Stands for: Thank Goodness It’s Saturday. What a week!!! I don’t think I have ever been so physically and mentally exhausted. If you count the health fair last Saturday, I worked 61 hours this week. 61 long, hard, mentally draining hours. Testing programs, re-programming, finding out that things that should have come pre-programmed were missing—which translates into more programming, instructing, reinforcing, thinking, streamlining processes, delivering….all while trying to keep a genuine smile on my face.
I suppose the worst is behind me; now comes the tweaking to make it work for our people and our facility. As much as I thought I knew about the process and program, you never quite truly understand it until you go through it. I guess that is just true about nearly everything we go through in life. You can tell someone you understand what they are going through, but unless you do it yourself, you truly have absolutely no idea. For instance, I can’t tell you the number of people that told me “I know how you feel” or “I know how much this must hurt” when my mother died. People that still had their mothers. So NO, they did not know how I felt. There was not any possible way to know.
So, anyway, after an exhausting work week (not to mention the ballgames, graduation and other activities the week held for us), I am simply glad to have Saturday at home. I am trying to get caught up on laundry. I need to change the beds and wash the sheets. Hub went to Paducah today for M & J’s regional track meeting. I skipped out to just hang out at home and lounge around (other than doing laundry). But, it isn’t totally relaxing because C & L are here and L is into some SERIOUS, MAJOR fit throwing lately. The kind that make you question if you are a fit parent or not.
This morning, I had 4 overly ripe bananas lying on my counter. So rather than waste them, I made the boys banana pancakes with strawberry syrup. It was also past time for me to make my Amish Friendship Bread, so I thought I would use the rest of the bananas in it. So, I omitted the cinnamon and used bananas. I also found a quarter of a bag of Reeses peanut butter chips in the fridge (and I remembered that Elvis loved peanutbutter banana sandwiches), so I thought what the heck….I threw them in the batter as well. Fresh out of the oven….absolutely devine! I guess I should have never questioned Elvis’ culinary expertise!
Plans for the weekend….Sis, hub and baby R are home. I think Dad is going to take us to a seafood place in Morgantown (it is a hole in the wall kind of place, but simply fantastic food) tonight. Hopefully hub will get home in time to go with us. Tomorrow is church, Sunday School and off to BG to Chuck E. Cheese for Little Man’s b-day party (Touch of Glory’s son). I guess we are going to grill out on Monday (hopefully I won’t get called in to work). On Tuesday, the boys start daycare at Longest. Due to our lack of family in the area, Longest preschool/daycare was the only option I had for C to start preschool in the fall. Then, next year, once he starts school at Greenville, he can be bussed to Longest.
Since I haven’t shared any pics lately, here are just a few of our busy, busy kids. Hope everyone has a great, and safe, Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Glad your rough week is over. The pictures are great! L looks so cute in the Diego outfit! And I can’t believe how much J looks like your hub in the track picture! I mean, I knew he looked like him, but he REALLY looks like him in that picture! See you in the morning. Love ya!
Awesome pictures as usual….but that’s how it is when you have cute kids! That pic of J does look like B!!!!! I’m like you, I was just so happy to have some time at home. I even took off work yesterday(Friday)because we were going to get off at noon anyway. I didn’t want to waste the money on gas to drive to O’boro for 4 hours…it’s way too expensive for that. I have worked in the yard for the last two days. It has been just perfect weather! See ya tomorrow!
