Just a day in the life of the zoo that I call home

I guess that pretty much sums up my week.  I am thankful that this was my last work day this week.  YEAH- a 4-day weekend.  Last night, we went to my Dad’s because the hub wanted some monkey grass.  C was less than thrilled because we were practicing batting and catching for tee-ball, so to stop the ever ear-piercing shrill/whine, I told him he could climb trees at Papaw’s house.

Okay, I should have known better.  I only wish I had my camera.

Dad has a dogwood tree in his backyard that is every bit of 20 feet tall.  Before I can blink, C is screaming “look at me, mom”.  Because the tree is in full bloom, it took me a minute to find him, because I was looking toward the bottom of the tree.  He realized I didn’t see him and he said, “no mom, up here!”.  I swear, he liked like 2 feet coming out the top of the tree.  And he did it in like 20 seconds flat.  I told you a gave birth to a monkey.

Monday, that same monkey ran into a metal pole at daycare and he has a goose egg about the size of a half-dollar that is still poked out on his head.  And it is nice and purple/green in color.  I’m sure it will be an array of colors before it is better.  I don’t think I have ever seen a goose egg so big.  On a kid, that is.

Tuesday was also the hub’s nursing final….I must brag a little.  He made a 99.99, the highest possible score.  AGAIN!  Now, only one more semester til he is through, unless my BF has her way.  She wants him to go to CRNA school, which I would not be opposed to.

Finally, I have a big prayer request. Tomorrow I go to U of L for the ultrasound-guided EGD I have to have.  Pray for safe travel and fabulous results.  Thanks a million!
